The first hinderance to prayer is S I N.  Because of our fallen nature, it causes misunderstanding and deception. Don’t just listen to the Word. DO the Word. Confession is Key!

Fear. Fear is a very significance hinderance that causes us not to overcome. If confession has been covered, fear cannot hinder you. Fear immobilizes you – faith in what can go wrong instead of faith in what can go right. When you go before God, it does not matter what your past was like.
